About us
Hi! We're Talia and Dalma, two proud Argentinians who now call Wellington home.
Urban Braids was born from our shared dream of creating a salon where everyone feels welcome, valued, and leaves feeling more confident than when they arrived.
Dalma is an experienced all-round hairstylist and braider with a passion for helping clients express their individuality through beautiful, braids or dreads. Talia returned to the salon after spending many years managing a business and raising her family. Today, she's doing what she loves most connecting with clients and doing technical services that make people feel amazing.
Like many who move across the world, we left our families and everything familiar behind to build a new life in New Zealand. That journey has taught us resilience, gratitude, and the importance of creating genuine connections within our community. Those values are at the heart of everything we do at Urban Braids.
Our salon is more than just a place to get your hair done. It's a friendly, relaxed space where everyone is welcome, whether you're after fresh braids, dreadlocks, hair extensions, permanent hair straightening, or simply a great conversation while you're in the chair. (Or a Netflix movie!)
Outside the salon, you'll usually find us on the softball field. We're both passionate softball players, so don't be surprised if you see us at a local game—we love being part of the Wellington community both inside and outside the salon.
